Have you tried children's toothpaste? It's delicious. This means one of two things:

Either it doesn't work and I'm wasting ten minutes of everyday having stand up screaming matches with midgets, or...

We could all just be using it.

Screw your minty freshness, I'm for the sugary yummyness.

Wwwwaaaaaait a minute.
You mean I didn't have to brush with salt all those years as a child? My mum told me that toothpaste was only for grown-ups!

Bubble gum was my favourite, until Sapphire decided that Cinderella toothpaste was babyish.

See, as adults we should all be free to use children's toothpaste and/or dentures. Gosh darn protectionist society that we live in.

Franzy - don't get me started on my parents and their hygiene/medical product choices for their progeny.
(you know when someone says 'don't get me started' they mean 'please ask me, I'm dying to tell you')

i've noticed it, but i can't do it

it tastes too much like sugar and i have a mental block about cleaning teeth with something that tastes so high in carbohydrates.

I know that it doesn't contain said sugar though so there shouldn't be a problem with it.
standard toothpaste we use is slightly basic though (to counteract the acidic foods we eat), maybe this isn't pleasant for the kiddies?
