Prayers of Ten Year Old Girls
Is it wrong to scoff at their sincerity?
Judge for yourself:
'Dear God, please help my cat to lose weight today.'
'Dear God, I pray that my sister is okay when her braces get tightened tomorrow.'
'Hey God, I hope my goldfish had a good day in heaven.'
'Thanks God for letting my netball team win on Saturday.'
No wonder He/She doesn't have time to stop all those children dying of AIDS. I blame those fat cats.

Ten year old girls, eh? Well mine is more likely to be channelling a 95 year old nanna. As we walked past the local high school kids who don't wear uniforms, she tugged my arm and hissed, "Don't they look in the mirror before leaving home?"
