You're both right. If in doubt, wear Crocs. The bright coloured ones.
I find that a quick scrub with Windex(TM) brings them up all shiny-and-new. Ready for the next black tie function...
What the world (I) really needs is fur lines thongs, to wear in between seasons when it's too cool for regular thongs, but too warm for uggies.
